Imation™ Trimax HCM Mammography Film
Product Data

Description

3M™ Trimax™ HCM Mammography Film from Imation™ is a high-contrast, high-speed, orthochromatic, single emulsion film designed for high-quality mammography imaging with a single green-emitting mammography intensifying screen. The 0.18mm (7 mil) blue-tinted polyester base is backed with an antihalation coating to preserve high image sharpness.

The high contrast of Imation™ Trimax HCM mammography film is beneficial to the recording of microcalcifications and other fine detail even without a grid, while its high speed (up to 50% faster than other single screen mammography systems) helps minimize patient dose and image motion.

Processing

Processing conditions:

90 Seconds Extended

Speed 130 160

Average Gradient 3.15 3.40

DMax 5.0 5.0

These results can be obtained using generally available processing chemistries.

Recommended processor cycles:

For a standard 90-second cycle, a developer temperature of 95° F is recommended. Extended cycle processing times of 38-45 seconds developer immersion time and a developer temperature of 95° F are recommended.

Availability

Trimax HCM mammography film is available in 18cm x 24cm and 24cm x 30cm sizes in 100-sheet boxes as well as 8" x 10" and 10" x 12" sizes for extremity examinations.

Darkroom Handling

Trimax HCM mammography film is notched in the upper right corner for ease of emulsion side identification. The emulsion side is also identifiable under a safelight by a dull, matte finish compared to the shiny non-emulsion side.

Trimax HCM mammography film must be handled in a darkroom under suitable safelight conditions. Use of a safelight placed no closer than 48 inches from film loading table is recommended. A suitable safelight such as the EncapSulite® R20 is recommended.

Storage

Trimax HCM mammography film must be protected from radiation and chemical fumes and must be stored in a cool, dry place for consistent results up to the expiration date on the box. Recommended storage conditions: 45° F to 77° F (7° C to 25° C) and a relative humidity ranging from 40% to 60%.
